Georgian winemaking was in the Guinness book of records
The Guinness book of records recorded that the tradition of winemaking was born in Georgia earlier than anywhere else.
Before, it was believed that this achievement belongs to Iran, where the wine began to produce in 5400-5000 years BC.
However, in the course of excavations of ancient settlements 50 kilometers from Tbilisi Professor Patrick McGovern with a group of experts from several countries found two vessel preserved them liquid.
Chemical analysis confirmed that these tanks are used for fermentation, aging and storage of wine. They date from the period approximately 6000-5800 years BC.
