Garden decided to declare in Lviv the area of environmental emergency

The city government estimates the timing of the construction of a new plant for the recycling of debris – at least two years.

Lviv mayor Andriy Sadoviy announced the decision of the city Commission, which asked the government to declare the city with the area of environmental emergency.

“The organizers of the “junk” of the blockade can begin to celebrate. We really have no other opportunities to avoid ecological disaster. Stayed a year! Believe also in the signature of government officials, under the Memorandum on the lifting of the blockade. It turned out, nothing to believe,” wrote he in Facebook.

On the steps taken by the city to overcome a critical situation due to the lack of a private landfill, the mayor noted that the construction of the new plant will last 2 years.

“The French together with the Ukrainian experts actively working on technological parameters and the project. Complete a detailed study of the proposed site for the plant at CHPP-2”, – he added.

As of 9 June in Lviv was filled more than a third of sites for debris. The garden also urged citizens not to throw piles of garbage on the road.

The collapse of the system of waste disposal in Lviv occurred after the incident at the dump in Large hrybovychi village, Zhovkva district, Lviv region, where the fire occurred.
