Messenger Skype, owned by Microsoft, is not available in the Chinese services to download apps, including Apple’s App Store.
An Apple representative on 21 November announced that Skype has been removed from the App Store in China. The company did, receiving a message from the Ministry of public security of China that several VoIP applications on the App Store, not inconsistent with the laws of the country.
The representative of Microsoft said that Skype was “temporarily removed” from the App Store in China. According to him, the company is working as quickly as possible to return the messenger to the app store. The representative of Microsoft has not announced the return of Skype to third-party services to download Android apps in China. The most popular ones, which are managed by Huawei and Xiaomi, now the Skype is also available.
Despite removal from app stores, instant messenger continues to work in China, the newspaper notes.
