France will be the world’s first robotic taxi

Autonomous taxi plans to start by the end of 2018.

Electric and Autonomous taxi that seats 6 people, will appear in Paris by the end of next year.

The model, called Autonom Cab and developed by the Lyon company Navya differs from previous versions of the Autonomous car Autonom Shuttle, which is able to follow without driver only in the specified route.

Robot taxis in Paris will have to cover different routes. Its level of autonomy will be equal to 5.

Passengers of Autonomous taxis will be to specify a destination using a mobile application. The onboard computer taxi will pave the route taking into account the wishes of each of the six clients.

The company intends to release the first copies of Autonom Cab during the second quarter of 2018, the year for Europe and Australia. The final list of cities where there will be no taxi driver, not made yet.
