Sanctions the 111th article of the Criminal code provide for up to 15 years in prison, if the fault of defendants is proved.
The security service of Ukraine says it has “new evidence” of high treason, former Minister of revenues and duties Oleksandr Klymenko, who, after the victory of Maidan fled to Russia. This is stated in the press center of the SBU.
“Law enforcement officers have received additional materials that the former official during the tenure of his actions deliberately caused harm to the economic and information security of Ukraine, sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of our state”, – explained in Service.
SBU claims that on 17 November on the basis of the collected materials, the Main military Prosecutor’s office opened another criminal proceedings according to article 111 of the criminal code (high treason).
In the case of evidence of guilt under this article Klimenko faces a prison term of 12 to 15 years with confiscation of property.
