Pilot “Ferrari” Kimi Raikkonen at the Monaco Grand Prix, has issued a 17-th pole in his career and the first since 2008.
The first segment with a score of 1:13.078 was won by the racer “Red bull” Max Verstappen ahead of the two pilots Ferrari Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. From the struggle for the high places knocked out Esteban Windows (“Force India”), lance Stroll (“Williams”), Jolyon Palmer (Renault), Pascal Wehrlein and Marcus Ericsson (both “Zauber”).
In the second segment of the veteran Ferrari Raikkonen gave the record time in the history of the route (1:12,231). A sensational failure was overtaken by Lewis Hamilton – world Vice-champion in the penultimate lap made a mistake and couldn’t improve your score, and the final attempt by the British ruined Stoffel Vandorn, crashed his McLaren in the 16th turn. Along with Hamilton behind the top-10 was Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso), Nico Hulkenberg (Renault), Kevin Magnussen (“Haas”) and Felipe Massa (“Williams”).
The first wave of quick laps in the fight for pole position with a noticeable margin won Raikkonen (1:12.296). Behind the Finn in a tight group was ricciardo, Vettel, Bottas and Verstappen. In the final attempt, Raikkonen again improved the track record (1:12,178), and Vettel moved into second place, ahead of only 0.002 seconds, the driver of the “Mercedes” of Bottas. The top 5 rounded out the two pilots “Red bull” – Verstappen and Ricardo.
