Along with Hamilton behind the top-10 was Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso), Nico Hulkenberg (Renault), Kevin Magnussen (“Haas”) and Felipe Massa (“Williams”).

The first wave of quick laps in the fight for pole position with a noticeable margin won Raikkonen (1:12.296). Behind the Finn in a tight group was ricciardo, Vettel, Bottas and Verstappen. In the final attempt, Raikkonen again improved the track record (1:12,178), and Vettel moved into second place, ahead of only 0.002 seconds, the driver of the “Mercedes” of Bottas. The top 5 rounded out the two pilots “Red bull” – Verstappen and Ricardo.
