Ford cars learn how to guess the driver’s mood

Ford spoke about the possibilities of developing the voice control.

In the future cars of Ford will be able to recognize the emotions of drivers and, for example, play jokes to lift the mood of their owners. About the same time, the automaker said, describing the possible development of voice control systems in cars.

“We are on the way to creating a responsive car that can tell jokes to cheer you up, give advice or remind about birthdays of loved ones,” said Fatima vital, top Manager of the company Nuance Communications, which helped Ford to develop a multimedia system SYNC.

The American automaker has estimated that by 2022, 75 percent of new cars will be equipped with voice control systems, through which drivers will be able to place orders at restaurants and appointments.

Ford also works with the Rhine-Westphalian technical University of Aachen on improving voice control system. In particular, through the use of multiple microphones, the automaker is going to improve speech perception and reduce the effect of external noise.
