This prison is overcrowded.
This prison was built 60 years ago in Quezon city on the Philippine island of Luzon. Originally it was designed for 800 prisoners, but the authorities managed to accommodate 3 800. Prisoners are forced to sleep in shifts on the floor, stairs, hammocks made from old blankets. This place is more like a can of sardines. Photographer Noel Celis “snuck” into the prison to see how it looks in reality.
