Scientists from a Japanese University in Osaka reported on the successful and unique in its kind transplant. They decided to treat the patient’s heart is but an organ transplant is fully used lab-grown heart muscle cells.
On the damaged areas of the human heart they put biodegradable sheets (0.1 mm thick and 4-5 cm in length), which contained cells of the heart muscle. It was grown from induced pluripotent stem cells. The cells that are taken from different tissues, and then using the techniques of genetic engineering chip.
The patient, who was transplanted a new heart muscle, suffering from ischemic cardiomyopathy. Usually the disease requires a full organ transplant. But scientists hope that the muscle cells will provide the protein that helps to rebuild blood vessels and improve heart function.

The condition of the patient will be observed over the next year. Over the next three years plan to repeat transplantation in nine patients.
