For life in this picturesque village pay 2,000 euros. Photo

For many, this place will seem like Paradise.

Would like to start a new life in a new place? And imagine an idyllic little village located in a picturesque mountain area of the Italian Liguria. The mayor of the village of Bormida promises to pay 2 thousand euros to anyone who would move there. New residents will be able to rent a house for only 12.5 euros per week.

Mountain village Bormida is located in the province of Savona in Northwest Italy, about 80 kilometers from Genoa. The settlement is located high in the mountains, but close to the sea. So the air is very clean there.

The village was founded in the middle Ages and boasts amazing views and ancient architecture.

Today, however, this idyllic settlement has only 394 residents and is in danger of becoming the next Italian a Ghost town. The reason for this depopulation — unemployment: many local residents left Bormida in search of work.

To attract new residents Bormida, the mayor of the commune Daniele Galliano (Galliano Daniele) decided to pay compensation to all those who decide to move to them. The initiative was announced on the official page in Facebook. “If you move to a permanent residence in our municipality, we will pay you two thousand euros.”

Although the settlement was left with so few inhabitants, there are four restaurants, library, post office, shop, family-run hotel, a pharmacy and a doctor who comes to the Harbour three times a week.

In the neighboring town 20 kilometers from Bormida is quite popular among tourists the Michelin star rated restaurant, Locanda Dell’angelo.

In addition to the cash remuneration wishing to move into the Bormida get another important bonus: a opportunity to rent good housing at very competitive prices — from 50 to 120 euros per month.

For example, one suggestion: rent house with kitchen, bathroom, living room, garage, pantry, basement and four bedrooms for a mere 50 euros a month (12,5 euros per week). For comparison: renting a house with two bedrooms in Central London will cost about 3 thousand pounds per week (3900 dollars).

The mayor’s proposal became interested in dozens of people: to move to the mountain village already want residents of Denmark, India, the United States, great Britain, Hungary and Indonesia. However, the absence of work does not bother them. After all, many people can work remotely and therefore are interested in whether there is a village high-speed Internet connection.
