Ageless Keanu Reeves returns to fantastic genre: his new project is called “Reproduction” (Replicas), explores the theme of resurrection with the help of high technology. Yes, there are no rituals in the cemetery, the center of attention – cloning.
Description of the film reads:
Sci-Fi Thriller about a talented scientist and biologist, who loses in a car crash his family. Obsessed with the desire to return to loved ones, he transgresses the laws of the state of scientific ethics and nature.
Not new, but it is interesting to look at. Reeves, again, is almost always good. Fiction here is likely to be smaller than in “johnny Mnemonic” and especially in “the Matrix”, but the moral and ethical issues promise to deliver very acute. Well, we’ll see.
Directed the picture Jeffrey Nachmanoff, who previously worked mainly on the series and wrote the script for the film-catastrophe “day after tomorrow”. The script for “Reproduction” meet Chad St. John (“Fall of London”) and Steven Hamel (“Criminal chip from Henry”). Reeves acted as producer, and in the caste of company it was Alice Eve (“Black mirror”), Thomas Middleditch (“Silicon valley”), John Ortiz (“fast & furious 4”), Emily Elin Lind (“the haunting in Connecticut 2”) and others.

At the film market in Toronto, the picture was quite a big demand. Rights bought and home rolled, and international. “Reproduction” will begin to turn already from 4 November, but to the domestic audience it will reach only next year: January 18.
