Young and really talented Director Roman Karimov (“Inadequate people”, “enjoy yourself, Bob!”) quite suddenly shot a horror movie. Somewhere next to the genre it took place with the painting “Shattered” black Comedy “under Tarantino”, but the new project is much closer to our grim ghetto.
Originally “Black water” was conceived as a fairly large-scale environmental horror. Alexander Lungin and Sergei Osipyan wrote the script with the expectation that they will be removed. The story was based around scientists who came to the wilderness to take samples of the strange water; there was a place action, tricks, a bunch of heroes background and even the scene of the destruction of an entire village. It soon became clear that the budget for the whole thing will not pull. According to the estimates of producer Andrey Novikov in the film would have to invest three times more than expected. Required changes and finally in the Director’s chair was Karimov. He rewrote the script (sometimes altering it right during filming), threw the most expensive scenes, picked up a Trinity of the main characters and made a film that combines psychological drama with horror.
Three young men — Maxim, his brother Peter and his new girlfriend, Polina, — come to God-forsaken village, where is located on an old abandoned ship, which is among the local very bad reputation.
Suddenly the night Pauline disappears, and the brothers rush to find her. But when she returns unexpectedly, there started to happen strange things. Maxim feared for the girl, and his brother suspect that this… is not Pauline.
Starring in “Black water” was performed by Irina Starshenbaum (“Gravity”), Dmitry Bogdan (“Chapiteau show”), as well as a writer and musician Evgeny Alekhin. Last summer, the film was shown at the festival “Window to Europe”, but to large screens it gets just now. For this reason, the network appeared the teaser and poster of the painting. Full trailer show promise for June 7, but the Russian premiere will take place on 13 July.
