The film “Atlantis” (Cold Skin) was on one stage or another of production already in 2009. The official synopsis of the film sounds like this:
The main character accepts the invitation to work during the year, a meteorologist at a remote island in the middle of the ocean. The only inhabitant of the island, the lighthouse Keeper, doesn’t even go out to greet him. But it will seem simpler after a night spent in a log cabin. After dark, the strange creatures from the water begin the siege of the island…
The film is an adaptation of the bestseller by Catalan writer albert sánchez of Pignola “La pell freda”. We have a novel published under two names: “Cold skin” and “In the heady silence.” None of them, apparently not satisfied with the domestic localizers and they decided to invent their own. Agree, looks good. Very good location, fit the story and the overall dark and atmospheric. At first glance, that’s it. The book was good, and the author on a couple of hundred pages managed to fit so much that the movie was able to swing in any direction. This can be a powerful Thriller, where the heroes day building fortifications, and at night shot from out of the sea creatures. It can be lovcraftian horror of a underwater civilization, or the very strange story of interspecies love. Finally, it may be a movie about loneliness, madness and finding yourself. In General, it is necessary to look. Very interesting to work at Jansen.
Starring in “Atlantis” was performed by David Oakes (“the Borgias”, “Street Ripper”), ray Stevenson (“Punisher: war zone”) and Aura Garrido (“the Body”). The premiere will take place at the upcoming Spanish film festival in Sitges, but in the Russian hire it will be released on 9 November 2017.
