A Russian fighter jet tried to intercept an American plane in Syria.
A Russian fighter jet recently held a “non-professional” interception of an American tanker aircraft KC-10 in the skies over Syria, then the Russians apologized to the Americans.
This was stated by Lieutenant General Jeffrey Harrigan.
During the incident, which occurred about two weeks ago, a Russian fighter jet made a barrel roll in front of the American plane. Harrigan added that the United States appreciates the action of the pilot, as own initiative.
The General said that the Russians apologized for the incident after the coalition announced its dissatisfaction with the unprofessional intercept.
At the same time, he stressed that the incident was only in the last few months and noted the de-escalation of the conflict with the Russians.
“We found ways to properly negate the conflict to allow us to continue our mission,” said Harrigan.
