The Federal Assembly, composed of 1260 people will choose the President.

So, at the meeting of the Federal Assembly on Sunday will participate and representatives of parties that are not represented in the Bundestag. Parties represented in the state Parliament, often delegate to the Federal Assembly of like-minded people among well-known in Germany people – athletes, artists, and actors.

As expected, Sunday at 12:00 Federal Assembly will be opened by the President of the Bundestag Norbert Lammert. After the first round of voting, which, according to preliminary estimates, will take about two hours, will count the votes. If one of the candidates will earn at least 631 votes, the election will be over.

Note, the 61-year-old Steinmeier supports not only his Social democratic party of Germany and the Christian democratic Union and Christian social Union. In addition, Steinmeier could only vote a majority of 147 members of the Federal Assembly Green.

It is reported that the left party has nominated its candidate for the presidency – the Cologne scientist who studies the problems of poverty, Christoph Butterwegge. The party of the Bavarian “Free voters” offered a popular lawyer, actor and TV presenter Alexander Golda. Right populist “Alternative for Germany” has nominated its candidate – the Vice-Chairman of the party’s 75-year-old Albrecht Glaser.
