Famous cartoonist made fun of the controversial monument to Kalashnikov

New work of Sergey Elkina.

Well-known Russian artist Sergey Yelkin his caricature responded to the installation of the monument to Mikhail Kalashnikov in Moscow.

The corresponding image posted on his Twitter page.

The basis for his new work Elkin took a picture of Vasily Vereschagin’s “Apotheosis of war”, which depicts a pyramid of human skulls on the background of the ruined city. The cartoonist depicted a bronze figure of the designer of the weapons standing on the pyramid.

We will remind, opening of the monument Kalashnikova was held in Moscow on 19 September. The author of the sculpture is Salavat Scherbakov, known for the authorship of the monument to Prince Vladimir.
