A celestial body weighing 500 grams fell in the village of Broek in Waterland, located in the province of North Holland. The owners of the barn found a meteorite the next day and contacted the scientists. The experts confirmed that the stone was a chondrite c a low content of metallic iron. It arose around the same time as the Solar system.
According to the researchers, the chondrite came from the region between Mars and Jupiter, where many asteroids and their fragments.
At the moment the celestial body is in the Museum on a temporary basis, however, scientists plan to get it forever. The cost of the meteorite, estimated to reach 1,000 euros.
