Facebook will verify the customers of political advertising

The company noted that each political advertisement will contain the information who paid for advertising.

In Facebook said that the company introduces the verification of the identity of customers of political advertising in the social network as measures to ensure transparency.

“When it comes to advertising on Facebook, people must be able to understand who the advertisers and see what advertising campaigns they conduct, especially in political advertising,” − said Vice-President of Facebook advertising Rob Coldman.
According to him, in addition to verifizieren personalities, advertisers may also be asked to confirm your location.
Each political advertisement will contain the information “who was a paid advertisement”. In addition, users will be able to view which ads ordered one or the other account.

It is noted that some measures will come into force from next month in Canada, and requirements for political advertising Facebook will use during the next elections in the United States at the Federal level and in other countries in the future.

Earlier, Facebook said that during the presidential election campaign in the United States, Russian boats were buying advertising on the social network to influence the outcome of elections.
