La Paz is an amazing city.
The city of La Paz in Bolivia has long struggled with the problems of transport. Steep terrain, high density development has transformed the movement’s narrow streets a nightmare for drivers and passengers of minibuses and private taxis. To solve the problem, in the last two years, the government is building the world’s largest urban cable car system. Currently in La Paz, the city has three cable car lines stretching over 10 kilometers.
The city of La Paz is the actual capital of the state (1898), as well as the administrative center of the Department of La Paz. A running cable car immediately gained the status of the highest cable car in the world.
Soon there will be six new lines with a length of 30 kilometers and a capacity of up to 27 000 passengers per hour. La Paz is located on the banks of the same river at an altitude of 3 600 m above sea level.
