Experts tell how to change the price of cars in 2017

From the beginning of 2017 in Ukraine continues to grow the automotive market.

In February 2017, the Ukrainians have purchased new vehicles 16% more than in the same period of 2016. The market of used cars increased by 36%.

The sales growth experts associated with the increase in the purchasing power of the Ukrainians and the stabilization of the economy.

For major price changes no prerequisites: tax changes are not expected, and factories to reduce prices for a small market of Ukraine will not be, according to Oleg Nazarenko: “Ukraine’s automobile market is uninteresting, therefore, to reduce prices for us producers will not”.

Although, according to the Agreement on free trade area in 2017 Ukraine should reduce the toll fee by 1% from the current 10% – this reduction in tariffs has only a marginal impact on the cost of the car. Given the expected inflation at 8.1 per cent, the cost of petrol and diesel cars is unlikely to diminish. However, the more affordable they can become by reducing lending rates by banks.

For used cars remain the same preferential excise rates, which were introduced in Ukraine in 2016. It is important to note that 2017 is the last year of the environmental standard Euro-5 and while you can import cars up to five years. In 2018 in Ukraine will enter into force on the Euro-6 standard, then the country will import only cars not older than 2-3 years – they are more expensive.

The only cars that can be cheaper is electric cars. In 2016, the market growth of electric cars in the ahead of Ukraine, Poland and Russia. In Parliament is a bill on the abolition of VAT on electric vehicles, and the Ministry of infrastructure announced support for electric cars in the near future promised to develop the state program.

Despite the growth of the market of new and used car dealers, Oleg Nazarenko predicts the growth of the car market in 2017 by 15-30%. But this is not enough to achieve figures for 2013. Then in Ukraine sold during the year 213 thousand cars. In 2016, the Ukrainians acquired a 65 562 of the vehicle.
