Experts predict a sharp rise in prices of alcoholic beverages

The next rise in price of alcohol will lead to increase in smuggling.

Already in the fall of 2017 in Ukraine will rise in price, wine, whiskey, brandy and other alcohol.

This was stated by economic expert Yuri Havrylchenko.

As the expert explains, the reason for the rise in price of alcohol is another increase in excise duties on products.

“As for Ukraine, the increase in excise duties on alcohol is one of the traditional ways of filling the budget, it is likely that in the fall we will see another change in the budget and another increase in the price of alcohol” – said the expert.

At the same time Havrylchenko warns that the next rise in price of alcohol will lead to an increase in volumes of smuggled goods in the market.

“Worst of all would be buyers, because the product quality will decrease and the number of poisonings with a substitute to grow. This trend is observed in Ukraine every government increase excise taxes on alcohol. The other should not expect”, – he concluded.
