Experts have warned of the dangers of vegetarianism

Researchers from England warn all adherents of vegetarianism and especially vegans (vegetarians the strictest sense) that the lack of some nutrients in their diet, as well as a plethora of other may increase the risk of depression.

The authors of the study suggest at least 2 scientific explanation of this phenomenon: lack of vitamin B12 in the body vegetarians. This vitamin is mainly found in foods of animal origin (beef and pork liver, beef, eggs, fish); an excess of polyunsaturated fatty acids omega-6 in the blood of the followers of a plant-based diet.

Normally, the fats are omega-6 needed by the body in small amounts. However, vegetarians levels of omega-6 in the body, usually above the norm because of the abundance of nuts, which they eat almost every day. However, science has proven that high levels of such fatty acids is associated with the risk of depression, bipolar disorder and other diseases of the psyche.

A study of blood samples of vegetarians showed that 7% of them had a lack of vitamin B12. And among vegans deficiency of this vitamin was detected in 50%.
