The passerby found the ancient tomb of one of the Central beaches in the city of Yevpatoria in the Crimea. This was reported on the city website.

“A bystander saw in the sand the edge of a large stone slab. He is interested in finding and reported it to the Yevpatoriya Museum of local lore. The Museum staff examined the man-made stone box with a length of one meter and twenty centimeters”, – stated in the message.

Was discovered ancient Greek tomb of the Subplate at the end of IV – beginning of III century BC. Archaeologists suggest that this burial of a child.

“Found a great piece, not often there are such findings. The well-hewn limestone slabs, of which the walls are made, carefully adjusted to each other”, – said the Deputy Director on scientific work of the Yevpatoriya Museum of local lore Lyudmila Dubinina.

In the stone box were found the remains of grave goods: astragalos (dice), two vessels and a small coin.

According to experts, the grave refers to the Kerkinitida ancient Greek city that existed from the middle of VI century BC on the West of the Crimean Peninsula on the site of present Yalta.

The unusual findings that this area had not previously found anything like that. More than two millennia ago the shore was further than that right now, maybe something was left under water.

Earlier, the archaeologists during excavations of the necropolis of Kyz-Aul near Kerch have found the grave of child, artificially deformed skull.

Last summer, during excavations in the Kerch Peninsula, the Russian archeologists have found the tower and walls of the fortress, built over two thousand years ago in the times of the Bosporan Kingdom.
