Excessive consumption of this vitamin can be deadly

Vitamins B6 and B12 need to be taken with caution.

American and Taiwanese scientists have evaluated lethal effects of overdose of vitamin B. a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and briefly about it reports the Ohio state University (USA).

Long-term use of high doses of vitamins B6 and B12 (daily at 20 milligrams and 55 micrograms per day for ten years), as shown by the authors, is one of the risk factors of lung cancer in men. So, an overdose of B6 three times increases the probability of occurrence of the disease, and B12 — four, compared to those who do not consume supplements.

To such conclusions scientists have analyzed these studies, including more than 77 thousand people aged 50 to 76 years. People lived in Washington, was examined in the period from 2000 to 2002 and provided data on the use of vitamin b for the past ten years. Reported by data, adjusted for personal characteristics studied, in particular, alcohol consumption, Smoking, cancer and chronic diseases.

In the future, scientists plan to monitor the effects of overdose of vitamin b on women’s health. On the status of the latter, as shown by preliminary studies, excessive consumption of compounds not having such a negative influence as men.
