Yanukovych extended temporary asylum in Russia until October 2018.
The office for migration of the MIA of Russia in the Rostov region has extended the right to temporary asylum to ex-President Viktor Yanukovych until 26 October 2018. This information was confirmed by the lawyer Yanukovych Vitaly Serdyuk.
“The reasons that became the grounds for asylum are political persecution and threat of life in Ukraine. They have not disappeared, in this connection, and extended the validity of the document”, – said the lawyer.
It is noted that Yanukovych has received Russian citizenship or a residence permit in the Russian Federation and does not intend to do so in the future.
“Only a temporary refuge before returning to the territory of Ukraine”, – said Vitaly Serdyuk.
A source in law enforcement bodies reported that there were no other documents for legal stay in Russia Viktor Yanukovych there. Information on obtaining Russian citizenship, residence permit or a national passport in any of the records of the interior Ministry.
