At the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, an exhibition of works from the series “Exiles” (“Exils”) one of the best documentary photographers in the world Koudelka Joseph (Josef Koudelka).
These photos were taken in the 1970 – 1980s during trips Koudelka in Europe as an employee of the Agency “Magnum”.
The Koudelka left his native Czechoslovakia after suppression of “Prague spring”. The photographer, who shot many Gypsies, he in a sense became a Gypsy: a Vagabond lifestyle from the object of art became his way of life.
The exhibition at the Centre Pompidou presents some of the most famous images from the book “Sanniki” and other unique black and white photographs.
