From time to time the services of Apple, such as iCloud and App Store no longer work properly.
Problems occur in their work, which, fortunately, are able to fairly quickly resolve. Problems can arise due to various factors. As it turned out, only one person can make a glitch in the iCloud own reckless actions.
The stability of iCloud is partially dependent on the stability of Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). Apple has partnered with Amazon with the aim to provide its users with various cloud services. Recently one of the teams Amazon worked on error correction, resulting in poor performance of the payment system S3. One of the members of this team sent to execute an incorrect command, which brought down several functioning servers.
Amazon acknowledged this in his blog, explaining that iCloud and many other services Amazon suspended their work due to simple human error. The company has a system to deal with such cases and methods of emergency restarting the servers. However, this time to deal with the problem failed, and the process of returning the servers to a working state took longer than expected.
As a result, one human error has affected many users of Apple products. It’s hard to blame Apple for what happened, and there are few reliable partners like Amazon. Amazon has promised to extract the most useful lesson from the incident.
