Ukraine introduced a new output – 25 Dec
The law on the introduction of a new output in Ukraine (25 December – Christmas) entered into force today, December 2, 2017.
So, today in Ukraine comes into force the Law of Ukraine No. 5496 “On amendments to the Code of labour laws of Ukraine on holidays and nonworking days”, according to which Ukraine introduced a new output – 25 Dec (Christmas) and 2 may become a day. We will remind, the law on the introduction of a new output in Ukraine published in the edition “Voice of Ukraine” from December 1, 2017.
Note, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 16 November supported the bill No. 5496 “On amendments to the Code of labour laws of Ukraine regarding holidays and non-working days.” The bill was supported by 238 MPs. So, according to law, December 25 (Christmas according to the Gregorian calendar) is recognized as the official holiday in Ukraine. Accordingly, on December 25 in Ukraine will be a day off. However, the relevant act is repealed festive day on may 2, which is now in Ukraine will work.
Thus, the law amended in article 73 of the Code of labour laws of Ukraine, according to which the holiday is only may 1 – labor Day. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the corresponding law on 29 November 2017.
