Elections in France: in the second round left him and Le Pen

Most polling stations in France are closed.

The leader of the movement “Forward” Emmanuel macron and the leader of the far-right party “national front” marine Le Pen advance to the second round of presidential elections in France, which will take place on 7 may.

This is evidenced by the preliminary results of the elections.

Makron was supported by 23,7% of voters, Le Pen – is 21.7%.

The representative of the Republican party, Francois Fillon and the leader of the extreme left movement “Rebellious France,” Jean-Luc Mélenchon scored 19.5% of the vote, the representative of the Socialist party, Benoit Hamon – only 6.2%.

This is not the official results, and the numbers may change.

The Makron is 39 years old. Made a career investment banker in the Bank of Rothschild. In 2014-2016 he was Minister of economy and industry in the government of socialists, but then broke with the party. The presidential elections went as an independent candidate centrist. Never held elected office.

Le Pen 48. She is a member of the European Parliament. Known for having distanced himself from his father, the founder of the “natsfronta” Jean-Marie Le pen, denounced his anti-Semitic and xenophobic views by excluding him from the party.

Recall that in the first round of French elections were 11 candidates for the presidency. The current President Francois Hollande became the first leader of the Fifth French Republic (since 1958), who refused to run for a second term. In 2012 he won elections against Nicolas Sarkozy with a score of 51.6% against 48.4 per cent. In the first round he had 28.6% of the votes.
