In Kiev there takes place the large popular DOTA 2 tournament: The Kiev Major.  https://24cyber.ru
The first stage will pass from April 24 to April 25. Then players will have a day of rest, and will pass from April 27 to April 30 playoffs matches. A grid — single-elimination which was earlier used on The Boston Major. After the first defeat the team takes off.

At last, distribution of prize fund has been announced today. As well as in Boston, the winner will take away home one million dollars, the finalist — half a million. 3-4 places will receive $250,000, 5-8 — it is twice less. Left in the first round will get awards in 62,500 dollars.

The championship will take place in two stages. On the first sixteen teams will play four rounds on swiss system. Following the results of the first two days nobody will take off, but more successful collectives will acquire the right to choose the rival on the playoffs.
The Swiss system assumes that at each stage teams will meet identical indicators. So, at first 16 teams will be broken into 8 couples in a random way. Eight winners will make four couples with result 1-0, eight losers — four couples with the score 0-1.

Usually in schemes the fifth circle also is played with 16 teams — three matches with participation of six teams having indicators 2-2, however for saving of time for The Kiev Major it won’t be played. Most likely, teams with positive statistics will be able to choose the rival on the second stage and will receive more successful place in a grid (so, two teams with 3-0 will be able to meet only in the final). Opponents can’t repeat. If teams have met in the first round, and then both have statistics 1-1 (or other, but similar), then they won’t play against each other.
