The first racket of Ukraine Oleksandr Dolgopolov successfully opened the new season.
In the first round of the tournament of the ATP 250 in Brisbane (Australia) Dolgopolov met with the 26-th racket of the world Diego Schwartzman, seeded in the tournament at the sixth number. The only time in 2016 tournament on clay in Buenos Aires won the tennis player from Argentina.
The first set Dolgopolov took due to the late break in the tenth game. During the second game the Ukrainian was leading 4:1 and when the score was 5:3 could not submit to the match. Schwarzman by the mistakes the opponent did a back break and resumed the affair.
In the tiebreak, Dolgopolov superbly acted at the reception – Alexander picked up five goals on someone else’s submission, which was enough for the fifth time in his career to overcome the first round of the tournament in Brisbane.
In the opening match of the season on account Dolgopolov 6 aces, 4 double faults, 30 actively winning goals and 40 unforced errors.
Next opponent Alexander Dolgopolov in Brisbane will be Horacio Zeballos or one of the winners of qualifications.
