For the victory in the tournament ATP-250 Dolgopolov competed with the 12-th racket of the world by David Goffin. In personal meetings the Ukrainian was leading 2:0, but both of those victories came when the opponent was not in the elite ATP tour.
The key point of the first set occurred in the seventh game – Dolgopolov at the first break point of Goffin sent the ball into the net and allowed the opponent to come forward. In the next game, the Ukrainian was close to the back break but Goffin through the first flow gone from of problems and confidently finished the game in their favor.
At the start of the second set Dolgopolov played five break points, then when the score was 2:1 made the break and went into the lead. In the seventh game, leading 5:1 and having two breaks in stock, Dolgopolov was unable to apply for a set. Goffin took advantage of the downturn in the game and equalized. At the tiebreak Dolgopolova had a successful raffle at the reception to win the decisive game to level the score in sets.
The fate of the decisive final set and as a whole decided to break the Goffin in the eighth game – the Belgian led 5:3 and filed for a title in Shenzhen.
