Canadian experts released an alarming warning to the lovers of diet pills with green tea.
These dietary supplements tied to two deaths and cases of liver damage, while one of the teenagers even dialysis.
Canadian sanitation office demanded to place more stringent warnings on the packaging of green tea extract in respect of concerns that it can increase the risk of severe liver damage. The order came after a girl named Madeline Papineau took diet pills with green tea to reduce weight, that ended with hemodialysis. In addition, these tablets are already linked two deaths and several cases of severe liver damage. One resident in the Australia doctors even released just two weeks of life, and he needed a liver transplant, and 16-year-old Englishwoman was taken to the hospital with hepatitis after she took diet pills with green tea.
Last year, a similar warning issued sanitary control of Norway. Apparently, the problem with data diet pills is more likely to occur if people consume them on an empty stomach. According to experts, the active ingredients of the tablets are more potent and toxic effects on the liver in this case. Drugs with green tea are a popular food additive, and manufacturers give them ability to resist cancer, dietary effect, as well as properties of antioxidants. They sell them in capsule form and in the form of tablets, powders and liquids.
Currently in the world there have been about 60 cases of liver failure linked to dietary supplements containing green tea. On the website of the Department of sanitation Canada contains the announcement that green tea in any form is considered fairly safe for most consumers. And it remains unclear why some people are more vulnerable to liver damage after taking specific drugs.
