Scientists named products, which increase the risk of uterine cancer
Eating mushrooms, liver, kidneys, and jellyfish by 22% increases the risk of uterine cancer.
This fact was discovered by scientists from the University of Missouri.
Blame the chemical element cadmium, which in high concentration contains in all these products. Cadmium is able to mimic the female hormone estrogen and its effects on the body. In particular, there is a thickening of the mucous membrane of the uterus, which can lead to cancer.
Smoking leads to increased cadmium concentrations in the human body is almost two times higher than normal, experts have found.
Scientists do not urge women to completely abandon products with cadmium, however, strongly advised to reduce their consumption. This is especially true for women who have a genetic predisposition to cancer.
