Scientists have uncovered the mystery of toothy sea creatures that washed up on the coast of Texas.
American biologist Kenneth Tay of the National Museum of natural history, Smithsonian institution suggests that the substance is a saber-toothed eel Aplatophis chauliodus.
However, he warns that accurate identification is difficult without the tip of the tail, so it can be one of coverattach species.
Saber-toothed eel less than a meter in length and usually hides in holes in the ocean at depths of 30-90 meters. He could get out of their usual habitat because of the severe weather.
