Dmitri Hvorostovsky for two years fighting cancer.
Russian Opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky died 10 October at the age of 54 years.
In the summer of 2015, Hvorostovsky was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was soon diagnosed with cancer of the third stage.
In winter 2016, he announced a temporary termination of participation in productions for health reasons.
After the victory in 1989 in the international competition of Opera singers in Cardiff Hvorostovsky received invitations to speak and work in the best Opera theatres of the world: Royal Opera house, Covent garden (London), La Scala (Milan), Metropolitan Opera (new York), the Mariinsky theatre in St. Petersburg, the Moscow theater “New Opera” and others.

Since 1994 he lived in London.
