Detention Marcia in Italy: in business there were new details

The hearing will continue in September.

In Italy was questioning of a detained soldier of the National guard of Ukraine Vitaly Marcia following which it was decided to continue the consideration of his court case in September.

This was stated by the Ukrainian lawyer Raffaele della Valle, writes Radio Liberty.

By the time Markiv remains in custody, to change the measure of restraint it is not.

During a six-hour interrogation on Monday, the defense said about the innocence of the suspect and the absence of direct evidence of his involvement in the deaths of Italian photojournalist.

As explained by the judges of the lawyer of the detainee, first, Markiv was on the scene as a soldier and could not take decisions about a particular military action, secondly, from the case clearly it is impossible to estimate at what distance from foreign journalists was a fighter NSU.

Besides, he didn’t have a mortar, than inform the documents provided by the leadership of the national guard.

The defense is concentrating now on getting permission from the public Prosecutor of the Italian city of Pavia, where Marcia kept under arrest to interrogate witnesses in Ukraine and visit the scene of the events in the Donbas. In case of positive answer of the Prosecutor of the trip to Ukraine could be held in late summer.

Analyzing the course of litigation, Valle considers it premature to raise the question about change of a measure of restraint for the defendant, because the legislator does not see prospects for positive court response to a possible request to release Markiv under house arrest.

Also on Monday, after the interrogation of the suspect the second time visited the Ukrainian consular officials, and they say that the conditions of his stay is satisfactory, he reads, visits the gym, psychological state normal.

On Tuesday for the first time a serviceman has to visit relatives.

Diplomatic sources, reporters learned that in the near future markeva can be transferred to another prison.
