Directors are Rob Brunner and Justin Harding, and the last is a very personal story.

Alan is a talented choreographer. Due to the birth of a child, she had to interrupt his career, but now she wants to return to the world of dance. The woman is going to participate in the work of experimental dance groups, and yet uses his solitude to practice the movements. Then while walking in the woods with his son Bowen, they discover the decaying remains of something vaguely resembling a bat. It’s not a bat.

So, we are waiting for the dance, the theme of motherhood and, judging by the pictures below, humanoid reptilians or short membranous wings, or with a double crest on the back.

But this personal for Justin Harding? As it turned out, the leading role played by his close relatives. That is, Alana is Alana Elmer, his wife, and the baby Bowen — his infant son , Bowen, Harding. In addition, Alan do, professionally engaged in choreography and is now preparing to return. So, despite some fantastic motifs, this whole story is very close to reality.

This is a new type of genre film, inspired by the desire to create something unique, beautiful and shocking, associated with our family and friends.

So speaks Justin Harding and Rob Brunner adds:

“Locked” is intended to balance the dance between scary and artistic. This story can only be told with real energy between mother and son, whose true relationship deeper lure the audience suddenly erupted in a nightmare.

Sounds very interesting to me. It is strange that we are talking about short film, and not the full picture.

While it is unclear what will haunt Alan and Bowen in the movie. What is this unknown creature? Perhaps we will see something in the spirit of “Black Swan” with all its grotesque and psychologism? Interestingly, monstryatinu also plays a professional dancer — Jarrett Siddall.

Incidentally, the theme of horror and children has surfaced in the works of Harding and Brunner. Last year at South by Southwest , they presented a short film “Pesenka” (Kookie), brought together in the end, more than thirty awards! The plot is built around a 9-year-old girl and another creepy clown, stepped into the frame straight out of our nightmares.

Now the creators decided to dig deeper, to do something on the brink between realism, horror and high art.

In short, I may too burn yourself. But I want to see it.

But so far we only have first shots, a trailer, and also a beautiful poster of this curious short film, which will premiere at the TIFF festival in September.
