Deserted places are different. This can be a place where never gone before – and that’s one thing. And quite another when you stumble upon an abandoned place that was once used by people, but now there is only darkness and desolation. Today the dilapidated ski jump and the ski-lift, hanging in the fog, look like a surrealist painting.
Storm-battered amusement Park
The Six Flags in new Orleans (USA) once prospered, but that all changed in 2005 after hurricane Katrina. Seriously affected the Park and the city as a whole – and they will never be the same. The amusement Park since abandoned, it was decided not to rebuild because the damage was too great and it was easier to build a new Park than to fix this. Today this place is run down and a somber reminder of better days.

Island of the Dolls (Isla De Las Muñecas) – part 1
We started with dolls, dolls and finish. The Mexican island of the Dolls – well, it’s too weird and dark place. A desert island filled with broken dolls hanging from the trees and pinned to anything. Dolls there are hundreds, if not thousands, and they’re everywhere. Some of them with hands and feet, some without them. Besides the dolls there still live spiders – lots of spiders…

The history of this island is creepy and sad. It is said that once, many years ago, the caretaker of the island, don Julian Santana Barrera, found on the island a little girl who either died, or was already dead. He couldn’t save her and the nightmare began to pursue him. Soon, the island nailed the doll. Barrera decided that this doll belonged to the dead girl, and hung the toy in a prominent place as a tribute and memory. But then something happened. Perhaps he was just eccentric, maybe crazy, but everywhere he began to collect broken and discarded dolls and hung them around the island. A few years ago, the caretaker of the island died and since then this place became a tourist attraction. People come here to see the collection, and sometimes dolls bring to replenish it.
