The former world champion in four weight classes Miguel angel Cotto could not put the winning point in his iconic career.
In a farewell fight Cotto suddenly a unanimous decision (115-113, 115-113, and 116-112) lost to Sadam Ali and lost the title of world champion WBO in the Welterweight.
For 12 rounds, Cotto threw 23 strike more accurate, but the advantage gained at the expense of the jabs. On power punches, Ali was a little better – 122 vs 108.
“I’m glad his speech. In the seventh round, something happened with my left bicep. I don’t want to make excuses. The gardens won the fight. This is my last fight. I want to be happy in his home with his family. I want to thank my fans,” said Cotto after the farewell fight.
Miguel Cotto (46-6, 33 KOs) debuted on the professional ring in February 2001. Until 2008, the Puerto Rican went unbeaten until a technical knockout is not lost to Antonio Margarito.
