Marin Cilic of Croatia crept close to his debut win at Wimbledon.
Marin Cilic and Sam Querrey made his debut in the semifinals of the grass Slam. In personal meetings the unequivocal advantage on the side of the Croat, who four times defeated tennis player from the United States, including two pyatisetovy match at Wimbledon in 2009 and 2012.
In the first set, the two semi-finalists unconditionally held his serve. In the tie-break Cilic at the crucial moment made two unforced errors and gave the set to the opponent.
During the second set, Querrey has repeatedly experienced problems with the protection of their submission. In the seventh game of Cilic made a break and opened the way to restore parity.
The third set was again delayed until the tie-break – first to flinch Quarry, which cost him his defeat in this gaming period.
During the fourth set, Querrey led to a break, but Cilic returned the serve. When it seemed that the third in a match tie-break is inevitable, the American made a struggle on his serve and couldn’t do anything with a killer forehand of Cilic in the second match-bol.
In his second final in the tournament series Grand slam Marin Cilic will face Roger Federer or Tomas Berdych.
