Don Mancini, the father of the entire franchise on the doll, Chucky, has long dreamed of crossover in the spirit of “Freddy vs Jason”, but in this case, with charred demon of dreams will face our red-haired man in denim overalls.
In a recent podcast Necronomicast Mancini spoke again about this idea:
I’ve often talked about this for many years, and I actually think it’s cool and doable. It will simply require all this legal red tape between two different studios. But I think crossover “Chucky vs Freddy” would be awesome. Because they’re both interesting personalities and both love to talk, they would be a really fun Duo.
Well, I must admit a little doubt in this venture, but on the other hand, I wouldn’t have missed such a spectacle.
My idea for a movie is to shoot a sort of horror version of “dirty rotten scoundrels”. It would be called “Children’s play on elm street”. Chuckie falls into the bedroom of the house on elm street. Freddie meets him there. And they’re like fans of each other. In short, they have a certain kinship. But then they realize that elm Street is too small for the two of them. Here there’s only room for one killer.
And again I gnaw some doubts. The motivation of the characters is so-so. Or still, it could shoot? Says Mancini, the main batch is based on a dispute between the two villains on who can kill more Teens before sunrise. I think we’d all like to know. It is obvious that Freddy is more powerful but in the movies things can turn around in an unexpected way, right? Besides, I like to imagine how these guys share branded barbs. If you think about it, they do have a lot in common — a love for striped sweaters, for example.
But unfortunately, the film “Children’s play on elm street” (Child’s Play on Elm Street) we most likely will never see. Legal difficulties, and the level of deductibles is now difficult to compare: different budgets, different box office. In Hollywood in recent years developed the next restart of the adventures of Freddie. Recently we even learned that the Director of the new “curse of Annabel” is thinking about the remake of “Nightmare on elm street”. Well, don Mancini slowly continues his series.
