Registration of mobile subscribers is aimed at improving the safety of Ukrainians, but in the world, this practice is gradually moving away.

The new procedures envisaged by the draft law of state service of special communication and information protection (GSSI), will greatly facilitate the work of Ukrainian intelligence agencies, says an expert in the field of information security Sergey Nesterenko.
“For them it is a wonderful gift. It is very easy to search for criminals, identifying their chains and ties. It will be very easy to track the movements of each person who is where was the one who met with whom,” said he.
According to experts, the registration of mobile subscribers is not a Ukrainian know-how, this practice is widely used around the world. He also noted that the binding of sim-cards to passports does not indicate the introduction in Ukraine of a police state.
However, the President of Kyivstar Petro Chernyshov said that in recent years, many countries begin to abandon the practice of registering the sim cards of the subscribers.
“Israel can in any shop to buy anonymous prepaid, as well as ours. And two years ago they it was still not done, not even had a SIM card to buy on a foreign passport.
According to his estimates, Israel’s rejection of such a practice may indicate the ineffectiveness of similar measures.
Earlier it became known that GSSI drafted a bill on compulsory registration of mobile subscribers. The document provides for a three-month transition period during which the subscribers who now receive services impersonal, should provide operators with your personal data.
