From next season the priority in the Ukrainian hockey League (UHL) will be given to young hockey players.
Clubs of the UHL during the meeting approved the new format of the championship. From next season clubs need to focus on players born in 1997 and younger. Players of the season will be able to say only five players born between 1993 and 1997.
As for foreign players, each club UHL will be able to declare five players no older born in 1993. Players over the age of 25 without reference to nationality to participate in the UHL will not be admitted.
In the next season of the Ukrainian hockey League are guaranteed to play the following eight clubs: “Donbass” (Donetsk), HC “Kremenchuk”, “Krivbass” (Krivoy Rog), “Generals” (Kiev), the “White bars” (White Church) and “Galician Lions” (Lviv), “Dynamo” (Kharkov) and HC “Dnepr”. It is possible that this list will add a multiple champion of Ukraine the capital, “Sokol” and the club “Odessa”.
Calendar of the new season of the championship of Ukraine, as well as the final format of the tournament will be officially approved in August at the regular meeting of the clubs of the Ukrainian hockey League.
