Cats here six times more than people. At the end of the Second world war the island was home to about 900 people. Basically, they were engaged in fishing. Cats were brought here to fight the mice, nibbling fishing nets.
Now residents there are only 17 people. Cats bred and “captured” the island, attracting crowds of tourists.
