Canada will contribute more than $105 million in military support to Ukraine

The funds will be used to ensure training of the Ukrainian military, as well as to the embodiment of the strategic goals of the reform.

It is noted that the funds will be used not only at training of the Ukrainian military, but also to the embodiment of the strategic goals of the reform of the defense sector of Ukraine.

“This amount is composed of 99.6 million dollars. additional funds allocated for three years on extending the military contribution Canada and up to $ 6 million. to support broader efforts to advance security and defence reforms in Ukraine, the Ministry of foreign Affairs from within existing resources of the budget for international development”, – stated in the message.

It is also noted that the military support of Ukraine “complements Canada’s participation in the activities of assurance and deterrence in Central and Eastern Europe as part of operation REASSURANCE, which in July 2018 was continued for four years will cost 514 million dollars”.

On the eve of the government of Canada for three years has extended the operation of the military training mission UNIFIER in Ukraine.
