In the regional center of Volyn region, on the territory of historical and cultural reserve “Old Lutsk”, found a mass grave of people and now there is a work on the exhumation of human remains.
“Before this place was the premises of Lutsk prison and, apparently, buried there, former prisoners, which in June 1941 was shot by the NKVD. All the remains will be reburied later”, – the press service of the Lutsk city hall.
According to experts, the excavation site was a crater from the explosion of a shell, so the human body thrown into a pit and covered with earth.
During the excavations were found fragments of the remnants of human bodies, clothes, and ammunition, cartridges, cartridge that was in service of the NKVD.
