Biathlon. Austria won the first race of the season Ukraine is sixth

Single mixed relay kicked off the biathlon world Cup 2017-2018.

In the first race of the Olympic season, the coaching staff of Ukraine put Vita Semerenko and Dmitry Pidruchna. Ukrainian Duo was quite good at a distance, but 10 misses did not allow the team to catch for a prize.

After the equator race Semerenko and Pidruchny took ninth place with a 40-second gap from the leader. In the third stage Vita has avoided blunders and lifted the team to third place. Alas, Pidruchny prone made three mistakes, and on the counter in an attempt to overtake the competitors used two additional cartridge.

On the last lap Pidruchny almost reached the third place, but while trying to overtake the Italian picked the wrong place and fell. From a winning position of Ukraine were separated by only 1.2 seconds.

Victory in inaugural single mixed relay was won by the national team of Austria. Simon Eder, Lisa Theresa Hauser eight shooting allowed himself only two spares.
