The Ukrainians will have more opportunities to get in the EU.
The state Agency of highways of Ukraine (“Ukravtodor”) intends to implement the project of the new highway Lviv – Budapest through the checkpoint “Dyida”.
“This road will become the main artery for the export of Ukrainian goods to the countries of Eastern and southern Europe and a transit corridor for international trade through Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic countries in Eastern and southern Europe, as well as provide a steady message of Transcarpathia with the other regions of Ukraine”, says the “Ukravtodor”.
This new highway will also connect Lviv with the Hungarian motorway M-3 Budapest – Nyiregyhaza will be the main road corridor between Ukraine and Hungary.
In the framework of this project, “Ukravtodor” together with the world Bank started preparing a pre-feasibility study of the project of reconstruction of category I road Lviv – Mukacheve. Now the road M-06 from Mukachevo to Lviv runs through difficult mountain terrain, and thus passage through it is about 3.5 hours. It is expected that the new highway will reduce the journey time to two hours.
Recall that in this year we started designing a new road category I from Mukachevo to the checkpoint “Dyida”. This site is to simplify transport between Ukraine and Hungary, as well as remove load from checkpoint “Chop-záhony”, which still account for the bulk of road freight transport. In the future, a new highway Lviv – Mukachevo will be communicated with the Slovak motorway R-2, which will provide its connection with the system of highways of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that the government of Ukraine postponed the beginning of repair and construction of roads from December to August, at the request of the President of Petro Poroshenko. The “Ukravtodor” planned large-scale road repairs. On the 49 km of the railway budget will allocate UAH 450 million.
