Belarus sharply reduced the supply of gasoline to Ukraine

A sharp reduction of supply from the main provider resulted in a deficit of A-92 in the amount of 30-35 thousand tons, which is about 40% of consumption of this brand. It is anticipated that this shortage will provoke the growth of prices for motor fuel.

It is noted that the consumption of gasoline A-92 in 2017 is 80-85 thousand tons per month. Of these, imports account for 40 to 45 thousand tons, of which 98% are filled from Belarus.

According to operational data, in October 2017, imported A-92 amounted to 9.7 million tonnes, of which only Belarusian – 4 tons This is the minimum volume of Belarusian supplies for the foreseeable period.

In addition, the October collapse of supplies from Belarus was marked for gasoline A-95 to 10.5 thousand tons against the monthly average of 40 tons in 2017.

It is noted that the reasons for the sharp decline of deliveries is scheduled maintenance at Mozyr oil refinery that started on 10 September and should be finished before the end of October. And finishing in September of the majority of term-contracts of the Belarusian oil company (BNK) with Ukrainian companies.

According to traders, in October, the BOC has sent a large consignment of gasoline for export through the Baltic ports. Sources in the Belarusian oil sector is also indicative of the factor contributing to the ongoing more than six months of searching for a new head of the BOC, which limits the manoeuvrability of the company’s management when making decisions.
